Terms of Use
Effective September 15, 2026. Plain-language terms for a free tool, written to be read rather than scrolled past.
What You Agree to When You Use This Tool
By using the preview checker and the tag generator you accept these terms. They exist because even a small free tool needs its expectations written down.
Previews are drawings, not the platform
The cards are drawn from each platform's documented and observed rules at the time of writing, applied to the tags as served in one fetch. Platforms change layouts, cache old versions, and apply rules a fetch cannot see, so a card here can differ from the one a visitor gets. Findings and generated tags are a starting point to test on the real platform. The tools are provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, and their operator isn't liable for losses that follow from using them.
Your responsibilities
Use the tool lawfully. Check pages you are allowed to inspect; a public page is public, but the responsibility for what you do with the findings stays with you. Don't abuse, overload or automate the fetch endpoint beyond normal interactive use, and don't use this service to probe systems you don't own or administer. A URL check fetches the page and its social image from the site you name, which is what every platform crawler does when the link is shared.
Caps and fair use
A check reads at most 2 MB of HTML and downloads at most four images of up to 8 MB each, within a time budget of about forty seconds, and is limited to 60 checks per hour per visitor. Those limits are what keeps the tool free and the origin shared with other sites usable; they are not negotiable per user, and scripting around them counts as abuse under the paragraph above.
Changes and contact
These terms may change as the tool evolves, and the effective date above moves when they do. Questions belong on the contact page. How data is handled is covered by the privacy policy.
